Heartland College Sports is reporting that currently ISU has the top 2025 Men's basketball recruiting class (link). The article says: "While both Moore and Mitchell were big recruiting wins for Otzelberger and company, the headlining player in the Cyclones 2025 recruiting class is four-star combo guard Jamarion Batemon." The recruiting season still has a ways to go. But this is another example of the great job Otze and his staff are doing.

Our 2023 recruiting class was #2 at this time in 2022, and ended at #6.
If the 2025 class ends at 6 again, I would be elated.

But it is a great time for cyclone basketball.

Doing an awesome job of recruiting direct from high schoolers and transfer portal players. Then molding all of them into a team that is greater than the sum of it's parts. That's the recipe for a long term elite level program.

Is there a way to impute what this class would have ranked last year once everybody was done?

I think that's more telling than simply this snapshot in time.

You never know, too... they might not be done. The Pierce scholarship opens up options.

That matter and they might have more than 13 to play with next season anyways.

We only have 3 commits coming in for 2025 so that's the main reason our ranking will drop over time.

There's only 31 teams with a commit, 15 of them have an average recruit ranking higher than ours.
