Just ate at Battle's in Campus Town once again and the sauce was great but overall the experience was wanting; there is a place in Council Bluffs that gets my Four Stars called the Hog Stop BBQ at 53A Exit off I-29 in Bluffs: Hog Stop BBQ - Council Bluffs Casino District - Council Bluffs | Urbanspoon
H.S. BBQ's meat and sauces are great. But there is much more than cures for caveman cravings for flesh over flame dripping spicy sauces. What really makes me lay awake at night salivating are the sides to the meat treats. Hog Stop's Corn Bread is lights out! Coleslaw? The best I've eaten at any BBQ Shack. Even the lowly baked beans were sumptuous. I've got to believe all this stuff is made on-site from improved recipes of BBQ from all over especially Kansas City.
And if you stay at the motel next door open your window and swoon. Wafting on the breeze seeming day and night is the luscious essence coming from Hog Stop's smoky temptations.
Stop in Council Bluff for Hog Stop's BBQ and if nothing else (casinos included), the trip will be well worth it!
