@Cyclone5234, I took the liberty to mod your ModifiedOrrnado a little, hope that was OK?
I did a quick switch of the lower tail section so that both Rt and Lt tails would be pointing to the rear. To me that looks better and more natural for a tornado to be moving forward. It also might be a little more different from the original Orrnado, if that is what they are looking for, something different?

I did the mod fairly quick so it doesn't look great/right yet. Do you think you could work yours a bit more, improve what I did to it, then show us both sides?

Personally I'd like to see a Dark Red facemask on it also, quite a bit darker than our cardinal, vs. the gold.

GCyclone.jpg I don't think that Gargano's design should be altered / skewed. It shows movement while staying true to the 80s cyclone design. Left side or right side, it "moves" in the direction the helmet is facing.

I'm cool with that. Then again you are preaching to the choir here!

Ideas should be fluid and open IMO though. The modified Orrnado, the '80's Cyclone, whatever you want call it, has not been approved or adopted yet. So whatever we as fans think is right or want, doesn't mean it is going to happen. Plan B should always be an option.

Yes I like this and the original. Looks great the way you have it, very level, and the mirror image looks very normal / right. I still like the tail of the 'nado pointing rearward. You can't tell me that the Orrnado looks like it is moving forward. Doesn't really matter to me. I like it either way.

What would happen if you flipped the orrnado logo? So in the pic below, the curvature of the tornado (in blue on the left side) would end up wrapping more around the facemask ( in blue on the right side). I feel the right side of the tornado now (yellow line) is pretty straight, so it doesn't wrap around the facemask part the juts out.

Sorry... I couldn't get my image to show up. But just try "flipping" the tornado over so the more curved side of it wraps more around the facemask that juts out.

I had some free time tonight, and I went down a rabbit hole looking at ISU logo stuff. I have always liked the Orrnado, but it is a product of its time, and doesn't integrate well into ISU's current branding. So I thought I might take a stab at a new version that draws from the Orrnado, but can work better with our current design elements.

Disclaimer: I am not an artist, and am very much an amateur with GIMP/Photoshop.

What I think you are saying I've done already, and am currently using on my white helmets. Tell me if I am misunderstanding you. And I was kind of hoping people wouldn't really notice, unless they they looked really hard and studied it.
WhiteHELmetsOrrCyLogoBilSidesWhtStickStdIStBlkText.png The more curved side of the Orrnado faces the front on the Left side of helmet. The Right side of the helmet has the standard Orrnado. The two sides are not mirrored images. You couldn't do it this way on an elongated Orrnado. When I did this I felt it looked better vs. a mirror-image. To each his own I guess, but I liked it and was looking for something a little different. My feeling is "they" are looking for something different also.

Note that I also have the tail of the Orrnado on both sides facing rearward. [Might also read post #3507 on my rationale].

I think we are in to Waldon years here, someone tell me what year this was (Marc Lillibridge?)? ISU Unis Lillibridge_Marc_5-2-1200x803.jpg Regardless we a have pretty good design, nothing wrong with it, a bit too much white for my taste. But the red and gold are TOO bright. To me this degraded greatly what could have been a superb uniform for the day.

I took a few liberties to darken to our cardinal, and darkened the gold to where it was from '67-'82, used dark red for the facemask, voila... It's pretty close to where a g/c/g might look like, should look like, excluding the shoulder stripes. That's our cardinal and gold, something we should get back to and be proud of again. I would LOVE to see the B/W/B for a road game. That would be so killer! Can someone put together (photos) what that might look like?
Since no one has responded, and there are no photos, unless u want to see photoshop of other combo pics (I can't do that yet), I'll give it a go. Gets you in the ballpark anyway..

You need to add a C-W-B in there too!! I still think that could look pretty decent.

As for my previous post, maybe this time my image will show up below? The left side of the tornado has more of a curve (blue line) than the right side does (green line). So if you just could peel that sticker off and flip it over, the the blue line part would now be on the right side and would wrap around the facemask part (red line) better IMO.

It is a little confusing. Which way to put the Orrnado. @Cyclone5234 has it the right way, especially on his elongated version.

See post #3794. I think I understood you right when I answered you there. I'll try to explain more in my next post.

I think @Draf has this about right, regarding the Orrnado. RedHelmetsOrrnadoDraf.jpg He has the less curved edge of the Orrnado forward, on both sides. I think it looks best this way.

I was confused because I have seen it the other way, multiple times before. See this post by @Kagavi, Cyclone OrrCyclone ISU v OU 2017 Kagavi.jpg where the more curved part is facing forward, Lazard. When you do a mirrored image of it that way it doesn't look right, as good.

in your post #3794, the left image is what I was looking for, but with a little more forward tilt of the logo. The image on the right side is not what I was looking for because the most curved side of the logo isn't closest to the front of the helmet.

So all hypothetical, I wish we were talking about getting the Orrnado!

Anyway, two ways to do it I guess. The way on the the left here, WhiteHelmetsOrrnadoTwoWaysToFormat.png with tip of Orrnado facing forward. The way on the right was kind of my idea, a little different for sure, and tip of Orrnado facing rearward.

I still kind of like my idea best, with the Orrnado tip facing rearward. But the way on the left is good too, probably better and more symmetrical.

No I understood what you were saying. And the way I've done with tips facing rearward, is to try to make it more level, not canted or tilted, to create more symmetry, when it's not really symmetrical, if that makes sense.o_O

This looks soooooo much better. I like the orrnado as a solid color without the gold in between then red lines. Your photoshops have been great. Think you nailed the home ones with the mix of orrnado on the helmet and ISTATE on the jersey. Can we see what a red or black helmet would look like with a white nado? Or maybe a stripe similar to what we had vs Texas tech in 2017?

When the Orrnado loses it's lean, it looks too much like a Longhorn helmet at first glance.
