Has anyone seen a line yet for the game at Iowa at? I can't find one.

Here is an interesting factoid for you...in the last 25 ISU/Iowa games (15 straight Hawkeye wins, then 7/10 ISU wins)...Iowa has been favored at kick-off in EVERY GAME.

Even during our 5 game win streak we were never a favorite vs. Iowa. That goes to show you the respect level. I expect Iowa -9 to -11 point spread this weekend.

I'm expecting the spread to be at about -4.5 favoring Iowa. This is about as balanced as the teams have been on paper for years.

Spread is always too high. Easy money making betting on the Clones almost every year. FWIW, I believe we've covered 8 or 8 of the last 10 times we played Iowa.

Its better to be under rated than over rated as Iowa has seen in the past few years. This year will be close, but Id rather go into the game as the under dog.

Point spreads have absolutely nothing to do with respect levels. They are set to get even betting on both sides.

I haven't seen anything from Las Vegas, but using the Jeff Sagarin's power ratings (from "USA Today") the Hawkeyes will be a 13-1/2 point favorite. That includes three points for home field advantage.

What he said ^^^^^

They are set the way they are to get EIU fans to buy 2 less cartons of menthols and put the money for their kids school supplies on the Squawkeyes.

I guess Iowa -7.5. I looked for a line, but did not see anything yet. We will get this one out there as soon as there is a real line.

The line opened a few weeks ago with them being a 14.5 point favorite. Miller talked about it on his show and noted that Iowa fans shouldn't fall into the trap. If I bet money on sports, a line like that would be easy money.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm looking for a pretty sweet money line...

I'm not sure a money line is available for point spreads bigger than 10.

Approximately:
For a -7 spread, the dog pays 2.5
for -9, 3
for -10, 3.25.

I'm sure Las Vegas knows the history of this series and will "cheat" the spread a little towards us.

I disagree. They try to get the betting public to bet 50/50 on each half of the line so bookie wins the juice. The 'lack of respect' is on the part of the bookie, making the lines bigger than they should be.
The road games are a different story but there is NO REASON Iowa State shouldn't have been favored by a few points in 1999 & 2001.
