Great news! Just feels like weird timing.

Seems like giving up an easy PR move to keep you in the news during the off season for transfers and recruits.

To me it feels like an accounting thing - extending both him and Campbell through 2032 tells me Jamie is figuring out what the books will look like starting next year with revenue share, and he's trying to get as much in order now for 2025 as he possibly can.

Could he be getting mid-season interest from other programs? Seems unlikely, but what do i know?

That's probably part of it, but also, I think our current media contract ends in 2032 as well.

I don't think any transfers/recruits will discount his extension because it's 4 months old instead of 4 days. They have a 9-1 record, ranked No. 3, sky's the limit and signed a great recruiting class. Just striking while the iron is hot, I figure.

I think it's just a matter of it being crystal clear that TJ is THE MAN and why wait to lock him up longer term if he agrees to it? I love the move, don't care about the timing in the least.
