Rhodes played MB for Alexis as she slid into Miranda's OH hitter spot. There's only 1 RS in a 5-1 so Bailey's spot is essentially eliminated if West is playing.

Very interesting and hard to imagine Conaway playing outside as I was unable to watch this weekend. Miranda can definitely contribute with serving and defense but does seem to disappear offensively at times (which I assume was the reason for the change)

I don't think MC has a presser this week since we have a bye week but, I would think CJL would have some availability. Maybe they are just doing it after practice sometime this week, rather than have a formal presser just for her. I would keep checking this week

Miranda somewhat reminds me of Capezio. Good serve, good back row, ok on block but inconsistent at volume hitting

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's very strange, because that's the same reason Miranda overtook Ciara late last year. I'm so used to CJL stockpiling OH's, its different only seeing a few on this roster. Departures never help but definitely a recruiting pitch moving forward.

it's a good comparison. Capezio struggled with hitting into the block and then being way wide/long trying to go around it instead. Saw a lot of that out of Miranda the first few games.

The two biggest matches so far this season today and tomorrow - vs. #8 Creighton today at 4:30, and then tomorrow at 2:30 against host Wichita State.
Playing Creighton was daunting enough, but then Wichita beats the Bluejays last night...
That was the strangest match.

Conaway played OH.
Rhodes filled in and was insane.
CJL switched to and from the 6-2 countless times.

All-in-all a neutral win over a top 10 team after suffering our first loss earlier this week.
Loved it that the offense really came together over the weekend. The hard work and determination is showing. Congratulations to Jess on her ESPN W honor, WOW! And, congrats to all the girls on their pre-season honors. Let's keep it going. Also see that Hali had been nominated for D1 hero of the week. Let's bring ISU more recognition and vote!

It is a full fledged block party now- Any combo of our front row players is pretty intimidating now. Putting Conaway outside and adding Rhodes to the middle mix with Lazard we are pretty loaded. No idea what we would get with Rhodes but if she plays anywhere close to as well as she did this past weekend THRILLED. To have Miranda Bailey Herbst Hart Hillmer Enna as backups really indicates our level of talent across the squad is better than it has been. Most of those would have started at one time here.
