This. I can still remember the starting lineup and where those guys were from.

IIRC, they turned the lights off for those guys too. Total ripoff from the Bulls, but it really got the crowd going, and the announcer really ripped out the lineup.

Lights weren't turned off, but that would have been sweet if they were. They have the intro's on the 1996-97 highlight tape. Man I hope that Nathan Terry guy is reading these.

I saw the intro at the first reg. season game, thought it was sub-par. Saw it again last night and man, it is horrible and people were actually commenting around me how bad it is. Maybe they'll boo to get it changed. You really do feel embarrassed for everybody standing there doing nothing, especially for the players on the court.

Just simplify it with better music and nothing more than 1 min.

There is an instrumental version of LMFAO's shots with just the "shots shots shots" part that ESPN has been using, they call it "Shots (Basketball Version)" That song would really keep people into it with the beat!

BTW, nearly 14,000 fans stood and looked awkwardly at the intro again last night. Hate to beat a dead horse but this new video intro has got to be changed or something...

Yep, I noticed that, and I was one of those awkward feeling fans. The cheerleaders did what they could but to no avail.

Agreed...very bad again. Over a 1:30+ of checking cell phones, and awkward glances. Heck I saw GMac look up with a look of..."Is this done yet." face. Not to mention the players just standing around. Please kill this....please! Bring Back "LET IT ROCK!"

My response from Nathan Green - ISU Marketing - was to give this intro a chance for folks to warm up to it...as Hilton hadn't been filled yet. Well last night was darn near full and you could hear a mouse fart during this time.

No intro IMO...just have fans screaming and yelling. Video highlights is stupid....Why do we have to be so theatrical....

I'd have to say the same for football as well...pretty freakin funny IMO...way over the top and theatrical. People laugh at how almost every college arena has bands play and teams run onto the field and we pipe in some decade old song and smoke machines. Theatrics doesn't get people excited.

I emailed Nathan again, updating him as to the lack of response to this song/video last night. I will post any response I receive here.

Maybe they could just shift it around in the timeline of the pre-game stuff, somehow. Fit it in somewhere, but it's at least 30 seconds too long before introducing our players.

I think they should cut the video highlights, crank up the siren, and then go right into the music we normally use for clapping and introduce the teams.

Last night was pretty much just an extra 1:30 for Jake and the Panthers to prep while our whole basketball team and arena just stood around.

why not just use one freaking song? going thru the video with one thing and then switching to another just isn't right. can't we use the normal song from the lineups for the video as well so the crowd can clap and watch at the same time? or do the let it rock one from last year and keep that same song right into the lineups with everyone clapping to that?
