I looked at his tweet history (I accept everyone's condolences) when he wasn't listed in the lineup for this weekend and according to his tweets he officially got his AA yesterday. So that makes sense but is a little confusing since Jackson said the Monday before Virginia Duals Jackson that he was eligible. I guess either there was a mixup or they were waiting on paperwork.

Little more to it than a paper. Bottom line advisers mess up... Kid almost gets screwed...kid works butt off and jumps through loops to become eligible. This happens way too much with Jucos. Off rant.

Now he has to get closer to 100% healthy. May be in the line-up in week or two. If healthy, will be a difference maker and contend for high AA spot.

One of those deals where our coaches have to be looking the other way, since he is a junior world medalist and all. I hope it works out, but it is going to look really bad if he has any run-ins with the law.

Meh, his isn't any worse than most. I don't follow any of our athletes on twitter because when you get down to it I don't care much what's on the mind of 18-22 year olds. I don't know how coaches and reporters do it.

I personally do not care what any of our athletes put out there, and I'm not going to copy and paste Downey's instagrams or Tweet's on here. But his posts are pretty clearly worse than most.

I hope so but will believe it when I see it. Pestano probably scores 0.5 points at NCAAs for us so if Downey can beat him and do better any wins are good wins. I'm worried that he won't see any ranked guys before Big XIIs so it'll be tough for us or the coaches to get a good read on him.

I know he has a spotty history and I'm a little surprised it takes someone 2.5 years PLUS another month to get an AA degree but I doubt his Twitter is much worse than most.

I just don't see him as an AA. Not this year anyway. His folkstyle results just aren't there.

Not Buf...but when the coaches feel that he is healthy to go. There is no urgency to get him in the line-up as he will not qualify a spot for the Big 12, anyway. He could be in the line-up next week but I got the feeling he still may be 2-3 weeks away.
