Real good interview CW. I wish I had the time to follow the WBB program as closely as I did when I was in school, but Coach Fennelly is right, it will always be a point of pride for ISU.

He was being humble, he always is self-depracating in interviews.

That was a fantastic read! The only bad part about that piece, CW, is that the interview had to end. BF needs to write a book about his coaching experiences - I'd pay a hefty sum for a book like that!

A few thoughts from a long time wbb fan...

We do have an emotional tie to the teams. This is different that any other sport. Its hard to describe why, but what Bill says in the interview is as close as it gets.

Next head coach? Fortunately that is a long time away. If it were today I'd be doing everything I could to get Brenda Frese back here.

There is a reason he is the dean of wbb coaches in the Big 12. He's good. He exemplifies everything you want from Iowa State. His teams are something to be proud of. He adapts and changes with the times.

Being a grandpa. Couldn't agree with his sentiment more. I cried when my daughter told me she was pregnant. That baby boy is the sunshine in my life. Amazing.

The new season is just around the corner. What I'd do to have press credentials (just once) to be able interview the staff and players! Well, I can't so you'll just have to settle for my game summaries! Can't wait!

Intteresting comments from BF regarding the B12 Missile Crisis and its impact to WBB recruiting. One can assume it impacted other programs, too, especially FB where it dented the current JR and SR classes. Several criticized BF for hiring Billy but it's obvious it was a much needed move to stimulate recruiting.
