Junior college All-America basketball player Anthony Hubbard has chosen the Hawkeyes over the Huskers.The 25-year-old Hubbard will make Iowa City his next stop in a basketball career that got off the ground late but is now flourishing. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard from Frederick (Md.) Community College averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 assists last season and shot nearly 65 percent from the field.
Hubbard had trimmed his list to Iowa and Nebraska, which he reportedly had visited last weekend. Iowa coach Fran McCaffery announced Saturday that Hubbard, who will be a junior, signed a letter of intent.
