Stop replying to them.

The only way to reduce the number of threads that get started on ridiculous, pointless, or overly discussed topics is to let them die. When everyone adds their $0.02 on how stupid it is, the thread never dies and people get frustrated with seeing them at the top of the list. Trolls thrive on attention like this, and when we keep replying to them, they continue to start new crap again and again. Lately it has been getting out of hand, and really brings down the credibility of the site in general.

Sometimes it's hard to stay away. I know, I'm not perfect either. I'm not saying that you can't call someone out for being dumb. In fact, that needs to happen. But once a few people have made their remarks, let the topic/thread die.

Please?

Yes, but.. if we all could do that, reality TV wouldn't exist! :jimlad:

But in all seriousness, I agree.
