So with a straight face, you believe that Kansas should be the only team to give students their basketball tickets for free because they're KANSAS? Sorry that I shot a hole in your argument about the mean old Kansas yanking 120 seats directly behind the bench away from the poor, widdle students to give to the wealthy blue hairs.

Ku doesn't give tickets away to students. That's proven above. I never said they should, would or could. I think you've goin' drunk in Monday's victory.

Student fees are collected as part of tuition. That's why the students were so upset. I know the then-university president and discussed the matter with his father (a lawyer) at the time.

Did I stumble onto "stateofKansasfanatic" instead of CycloneFanatic? GTFO with the KU v. KSU pillow fight.

My updated rankings
1. OU
1a. KU
2. ISU
3. WVU
4. Baylor
5-10. Who cares.

I feel ok ranking OU ahead of KU despite the loss last night. AFH is worth at least 5-6 points IMO. Can't wait to see what happens when KU and OU come Hilton. I'm not sure there's much difference in the 3 teams.

I assume you mean the 120 seats in Section U that were removed from the GA/student section and sold to prime season ticket holders to recoup hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost revenue when the Student Senate voted to eliminate the Student Fee paid for their tickets every year. The chancellor stepped in and negotiated a settlement where instead of waiving the $50 fee entirely for students (a $1.1 million hit to the athletic department) the fee was reduced so the hit was "only" $350,000.

KU AD absolutely extorted the KU Student Senate with that, tuco. Pretty ugly situation for any school, let alone one with so much basketball tradition and strong student support.

Yeah, the KU students must feel really extorted that they got their cost lowered to $35 a season for KU basketball tickets. My PARKING PASS for one game is more than that.

Looks about right to me, Chuckd. There's an attempt to group. I would not put ISU in the top group though. I'd move them down a group to sit with WVU. I'd also move Baylor down to the Tech grouping. Other than that, minor changes, it seems fairly representative of play thus far.

For what reason? ISU lead 85% of the game against OU on the road...a team that took KU to 3 OT's in Lawrence. It would be foolish to not have ISU in the top group right now.

No argument on Baylor from me...my only reasoning is they always play like **** in Allen and I liked what they did against OSU to rebound from that loss.

I would feel OK putting OU ahead of KU if you can guarantee me that Buddy Hield will average 46 points a game in conference. Hield isn't going to be that on fire every night. No one for KU countered it with an "on fire" night of their own and KU still won so I'll keep KU on top until they start losing some games.

Graham doubled his ppg average just like Hield did so that was "on fire" for him. Ellis also had his season high in points.

KU doesn't have anyone on their team that could put up 46.

ISU lost one of their key players for the year, a leader as well. My guess is that will show as the season progresses, particularly away from Ames. But it's a fine line between the top and second tier for me. I have no quarrel either way for ISU. It's just how I see it finishing by season's close.

Ellis's previous high was 24 points in 27 minutes. He scored 27 points against Oklahoma...in FIFTY THREE MINUTES. One more three pointer in 26 minutes of play. WOW, he was on fire.

Agreed. Also, McKay is not nearly the shot blocking presence that he was last year and I think that will hurt over time. He has only 3 more blocks than Hunter Mickelson on the season despite playing 443 minutes to Mickelson's 148. As Big 12 coaches continue to scout ISU under Prohm, I can see more teams looking to take advantage of that drop off.
