According to the eligibility criteria, the list is based on votes of 550 "esteemed" sports writers.

Players have been added as recently as Oct 24th and the #2 (#1 now?) in the nation in yards per catch is not among the top 75. Shows how meaningful these awards are.

The most prestigious award is best offensive skill position player predicted to be on a top 5 team.

Looked up out of curiosity.

Nationally:
#1 YPC (24)
#24 Yards (with one less game, if you add his average game he'd be #7)
#14 TDs (with one less game, if you ad his average game he'd be #8)

So 1, 7, 8 in the major stats adjusted per game playing against #5 SOS schedule.

Even Kansas has a player in the list! As does Coastal Carolina.

Wow. That's some bull ****.

Looking at the stats and the schools/schedules the players come from, I don't think you could have a legitimate list of 5 or 10 without him. There's nobody who is playing better per target in college football. There are about 8 guys you could make an argument for playing near the same level.

Jeudy from Alabama is the most comperable in terms of production per play but at 6'1" he's doing the same things with different skills. If you give Hakeem one more game of average stats they'd be nearly identical.

Obviously he was left off to start the year and even that seems like a blatant oversight....

Returning star receiver on a team with a returning 6th year QB and high expectations?

But he fact that he hasn’t been added while others have... SMH.

The Big12 should dominate that list: Wallace from OSU, Marquise Brown from OU, Sills from WV, Butler from ISU, and Wesley from TT are all amazing WRs. You could still add Jennings, Humphries, Reagor, Hurd, Vasher, Lamb, Duvernay, Johnson (TT), Johnson (UT), etc. and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more.

Butler in one fewer game has:
Roughly the same yardage as KU's top 3 receivers combined.
The same amount of TDs as KU's top 4 receivers combined.
Higher average per catch than KU's top 2 receivers combined.
His longest play is 36 yards longer from scrimmage than any play KU has ran all year.

Week or 2 ago ESPN announcer had UT’s WRs over Hakeem because both were 6’5”+

As said previously, these awards are worthless

I genuinely want what's best for ISU's players, and I know the scouts are like brain surgeons compared to these watch lists and media talking heads...but selfishly anything that helps get him back.
