If you want a Hooters in Ames is has really nothing to do with the founder. Hooters is franchised. Good part is the Midwest Hooters are owned by R.L. French Corp. Famous for the Rod French Sideline reports at football games. He is one of the biggest donors at Iowa State. Included in the Corp is Kenworth Semi Trucks, Omaha, Rock Island, Des moines, and a few others. So if you want a Hooters in Ames. Contact Kenworth Mid Iowa and make your pitch.

It's always baffled me why there wasn't one in Ames by now. Good looking gals and good food in a city you have a bunch of young college guys that would drool over both. If only I had the $ to franchise it could be a very profitable business venture you'd think.

They only put them in certain size cities. They were going to put one in Ames, but when school lets out for the summer and the students go home, they didnt think they would have the sales they wanted.

I've discussed this idea with people before. I think it would do very well here, at least during the school year. I believe the requirement I heard was a metropolitan area of at least 250,000 to have a franchise.

Of course seeing as there are some ISU alums and donors with some power over this, maybe an exception could be made. How about putting it where the new Legends is at. Hooters with a view! :)
