So I know several people on here play Goal Line Blitz (don't worry, that's not what this is about). The owner of one of the teams I have a player on recently made a post in the team forum titled 'Top 10 Comedy's [sic] of All Time.' This was the list he 'and a buddy came up with':
1. Half Baked
2. Office Space
3. Wedding Crashers
4. Joe Dirt
5. Super Bad
6. Anchor Man
7. Happy Gillmore
8. Dumb and Dumber
9. Waiting
10. Old School
Others Nominated: 40 year old Virgin, Talladegha Nights, Friday, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Step Brothers, and Napoleon Dynamite.
He has since admitted he is 28 (I guessed he was no older than 25, close enough). But dear God. Maybe saddest of all is that I appear to be the only voice of dissent. Anyway, I've got my ideas, but help me put together a list that doesn't make me weep for my generation (I'm 24).
A couple of things. Only one spot each for Woody Allen and Mel Brooks movies. Spread the wealth a bit. Also, pay little attention to the actual rankings. They're pretty much interchangeable. Lastly, #11 is reserved for the guilty pleasure, belongs nowhere near a top 10 list of any kind, but I don't care because I find it hilarious... movie.
This is my very rough first list. I have a tendency to make large, glaring omissions when trying to do stuff like this, so help me fill in any holes I may have left.
1. National Lampoon's Animal House
2. Dr. Strangelove
3. M*A*S*H
4. Caddyshack
5. The Producers
6. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
7. Sleeper
8. What About Bob?
9. Superbad
10. National Lampoon's Vacation
11. Eurotrip
Outside looking in: Little Miss Sunshine, Pink Panther, Uncle Buck, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail, Anchorman, Tropic Thunder, Groundhog Day, Wedding Crashers, Out of Towners, The Jerk
