My high school classmate and fellow Iowa State fan/grad lost his wife (only 29) this week to breast cancer after fighting for 5 years. She leaves behind two young sons (and hopefully future cyclones).

I know the power this board can have and any help you can provide to their family would be greatly appreciated.

What is the acceptable amount of money for losing one's wife and mother of his children?

With GoFundMe you keep the money even if you're short of your goal. So the goal is largley irrelevant for this type of situation.
