I read in the paper last night that Heemstra left jail to a new place on Lake Panorama that cost over $400,000.00.

1. Good Luck to the Lyons family in their civil suit
2. Citizens of Panora, don't stop and chat with anyone with a gun rack in their pickup
Lol, did you know this Lyons guy or something? You seem to be taking this awfully personal.

I was going to ask the same thing about you and Heemstra with the way you rise to his defense. No, I have no connection to the Lyons family and I've never been to Milo. Just have seen a lot about this case and hate it when bad guys go free.

He didn't "go free", he was convicted on manslaughter and served 4 years in prison. And no, I have no idea who this guy is, it just seems like you wanted the murder charge to stick even after the supreme court ruled against it.

Heemstra has had a place in Panora for a while. The family moved up there after the murder to get away from Milo. I knew/know both well and the murder conviction shouldn't have been over turned.

You take a life, you lose yours. /quote]

Dangerous statement.

American soldiers are taking lives everyday.

I am not going to pretend to know anything, but if this guy was shot in the face it tells me this guy didn't turn around and run away when confronted with the possibility of losing his life.

Is anyone else sick of seeing this guy cry on the witness stand?

Not only did he murder Tom Lyon, he dragged Tom's dead body behind his pickup down a gravel road and dumped it into a well. Now after somehow getting out prison for manslaughter ( I am still not sure how dragging the body down a gravel road helps indicate it was self defense) he is attempting to avoid paying money out to the victim's family in a civil suit. Absolutely incredible.

How in the world did this guy get paroled after only 4 years??

Heemstra 'epitome of evil,' counselor testifies | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

In a separate incident while Heemstra was at the Rockwell City prison, Pepples said she was extremely disturbed after learning Heemstra had obtained documents about her personal life, including her finances and driving record.
Pepples told Judge Michael Huppert how she had called Heemstra into her prison office to explain how his refusal to participate in treatment would prevent the prison staff from recommending him for early release on parole. He flew into a rage, she said.

"He became very upset. He started yelling at me and pounding on my desk," Pepples said.
