Has Breece Hall gained too much muscle?

I haven’t really seen this brought up much, and maybe I’m just seeing things. But he hasn’t looked as quick hitting the holes the first two games. He looks absolutely way more jacked than last season. His cuts haven’t looked as great either. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a great running back, but he just seems to maybe have lost some first step speed with muscle weight gain.

Well I wondered the same thing. Too early in the season to know for sure. Gotta get the offensive line to open things up for him that's for sure.

The strength staff said the plan for Breece was to drop sum weight and stack on lean muscle to add more horse power. In my opinion one of his best qualities is his patience and at times it seems he's being too patient. Some of it might be play calling as well because a lot of his lanes are clogged because of stacked boxes. I said in a different thread they need to figure out some off-tackle stuff for him. Teams are game planning heavily against a back of his caliber also.

I hear he can no longer shoot.

In before “join the premium board” but my theory is that he’s dinged up. He hasn’t looked like himself at all and doesn’t seem to have the breakaway speed he showed at times last year. Then again, line play has been brutal to start the year.

Duh!
No. The running lanes are more crowded because teams are stacking the box and we can't spread the field to make them pay. Next topic, please.
I believe the Oline isn’t the same combination that played at the end of last season.

I think it's more between his ears. His 2 best carries we're immediately after he caughed it up for an Iowa touchdown. He ran with some anger and passion that was missing up until then. I think that's why Campbell sat him during most of the 4th quarter.

I imagine he sat during the end of the 4th quarter to prevent injury more than this... just my thought.
