When Chizik took the Auburn job 3 years ago, I felt he'd be fired within the first five years. That prediction still stands. The national championship will be ancient history after 2 more mediocre seasons.

According to this article, his 2011 salary was $1.3 million. He took a pay cut of half a million dollars to go to a lesser known school, with more responsibility. Hmmmm... something isn't right.

So both of Chizik's coordinators are taking pay cuts to leave Auburn. That is some crazy stuff. Something's going on down there folks.

The defensive coordinator has to be taking a HUGE pay cut. And Malzahn is taking a good sized cut too. Weird.

Maybe we're reading too much into the GM hire. His offense wasn't all that great this year. Perhaps some of the luster is coming off GM, and maybe he decided this might be the time to try and snag a HC job.
