Gf wants to do usual cold sandwiches. I'm not feeling that typical menu. Any ideas?

make a vat of pulled pork meat and let guests build their sandwiches? Walking tacos, make up a bunch of meat and then just have a table set up with all the fixins to add to their bag?

Put on all the invitations...sandwiches optional - bring your own if you wish to...and see what happens. :jimlad:

No, really. A few years back we put out a platter of ham, roast beef, turkey and cheese with buns and let the guests build their own. it went over pretty well because we hardly had anything left over.

sorry about the sarcasm....or am I?

Best of Luck!

I did mine at Aunt Maudes in their downstairs lounge and it worked perfect! Plus, they have good appetizers and drinks!

In all seriousness, it all comes down to how much work you want to do, and how much you want to spend. People do the cold cut buffet because the work is minimal, and the cost is low.

If you want to put on something extravagent, just be willing to do some extra work for it, and/or pay some extra money.

Walking tacos is pretty damn easy. You just need to buy those individual bags of Doritos, salsa, shredded cheese, lettuce and other condiments. You'd probably only need to cook the ground beef.

Alternately, letting them build their own sandwiches is as easy as buying a sandwich meat platter, having slices of cheese, and bread, along with whatever condiments.
