Moderator or not; free site or not; it's time to stop. It's troubling for people to NOT be able to confront it and then call a spade a spade without people usurping their power as moderator and controlling said confrontation. There is a difference between a free flow of information/conversation about ISU stuff and people being just plain irresponsible about individual's lives. Time for facts about people's indiscretions to take priority over sake of salacious story lines.

I'm using the site feedback forum and I've used no names.

As the site rules state, if you have a problem with a post/member, report the thread. The tools are there for a reason.

What is not acceptable are personal attacks that continue to happen here. Jeremy shut the site down for a short period earlier this week for that very reason. I'm sure he won't shy away from doing it again should he deem it necessary.

He's put in place the framework to check & balance everyone - members and moderators alike. You can either use those tools and have your opinions/views received well or violate the rules of the site and not have them heard.

It's up to you.

I utilized this forum that states it's for site feedback. I think there is plenty of 'feedback' to go around and those options you mentioned do not allow for others to voice their opinion on if they feel this is a need. I named no names in my feedback and kept it generic.

I'm not sure what all the personal accusations have to do with my feedback, as I've made none.

Enough.

You were given a brain that allows you consider or dismiss information as you see fit. The whining about "rumor mongering" is getting tiresome on this site.

I've got to agree with flyer on this. This site doesn't seem to be the same one that started a year ago. I haven't donated a boat load of money to Jeremy, but unless the direction that CF has taken changes I won't be donating anymore.

Who seriously gets offended by anything said on an online message board?

All of you need to stop whining and deal with the fact that there are gonna be people who don't take the angle you deem fit.

Are you seriously gonna ban someone or shut down the site because someone doesn't have evidence to back up a claim?

I think everyone needs to stop worrying so much about being civil on an internet message board. This isn't elementary school.

BTW - i haven't seen any of these "personal attacks" that keep being mentioned. It's not an attack on someone's character to post a rumor floating around campus or the city. It should simply be up to you to choose to believe it or not.

The site gets shut down, and people get pissed because of threads like this. The intentions may not have been that way starting off, but doesn't mean it cant get there. We have all seen how threads get off course.

So for this reason, you need to do what ISUFan22 mentioned earlier. Report or PM the appropriate people necessary for your voice to be heard. Until then, this thread is closed!
