Is their new stadium on or near campus? That would help a lot. The dome is an awful location for college footbal. No tailgating, no parking, not on the campus. I think having a more collegiate atmosphere would make a big difference.

It's going to be on-campus. That was the biggest part of the whole idea.

I didn't have to use the argument, but I've been ready to pull out the "You think this is bad, just look at Minnesota" comment if support for the team started waning. Tim Brewster inherited a 6-7 bowl team with plenty of talent. I can safely say Chizik has (so far) done a much better job on the field with much less.

Had a good laugh this morning. They had a little blip in the KC Star about the Gophers being one of the worst teams in football. Then it said their only chance at avoiding a 1-11 season was Iowa!!

And the Iowa fans are still trying to convince themselves they will win out and slip into the Alamo bowl, lol!

Lest you offend them and they haunt you with the ghost of Lawrence Welk, I think they prefer to be called NDSU...

Alright, alright - enough with the Lawrence Welk jinx. Haven't been able to get that flippin' song out of my head......

Brewster is building a house of cards in Minnesota. He may be able to get a few great athletes to come there because there is talent in Minnesota, but soon people will realize that he cant coach, he is clueless, nothing but hot air.

The cupboard was by no means bare there. Glen Mason would have this team in a bowl game or at least close. If they hadnt blown that huge lead against Texas Tech last year he would still be there and they would have won a few more games.

Good thread flyboy, I was watching the MU score at the Jack and couldn't believe what I was seeing. As far as the new MU stadium, the Metrodome only holds 60000, about the same as the new Chicago stadium. Some of these SEC/Big 10 stadiums are just freakish big, twice as big as a lot of NFL stadiums. Any one hear Texas A and M wants to increase their stadium to 125,000.

I've read from some national sources that Tim Brewster is building his new Gopher football program the right way from the ground up & putting a huge effort on recruiting. It'll take time, but they'll be just fine...

I feel the same way about Chizik & the Cyclones!

Your sources have been listening to Brewster's own hype. Right now, he is disparaging his own players saying he needs to bring in better talent to win. And, the cupboard was NOT bare at all. Mason had a super recruiting year going, and most stayed with the commitment. And plenty of returning talent. Any decent coach would have an easy path to a bowl with that team. Brewster brought in a collection of asst. coaches he did not know, let them do what they want (since he has no system) and they are getting exactly that. Disarray. He will not last beyond next season.
Best part: Prior to the ND State game, he called them "The little guys in green from North Dakota." And said he wanted them off the schedule because they don't help his recruiting. There are not players there he wants. Plenty of fodder for the bulletin board inthe locker room.
