Going to a Game at Phog Allen Fieldhouse

A buddy and I are looking to go to the Iowa State-Kansas game in Lawrence on the 29th.

There are plenty of "GA" tickets available on Stubhub in the $85-$100 range. That sounds like a reasonable price to catch a road game at the Phog, but how exactly does it work? Is it like student tickets at Hilton where there's a big rush and it's first come/first served? Does a "GA" ticket guarantee you admission into the game?

Any advice from any KU fans or anyone who has made the trip to Lawrence would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Is the experience worth $100 a ticket? Iowa State football and basketball season ticket holder for years, never missed a bowl game, but never been to an ISU basketball game on the road. Perhaps a tamer experience might suit me better?

I'm a cheap grad student, but I don't regret the trip there last year.
Like anywhere, most people will be pretty decent. They'll pretty much ignore that you're there, since you're dressed funny.

Living in KC, all I can say is some KU fans can be dicks, but some can be cordial as well. I've met some that have been rude at bars (I made the mistake of going to a KU bar for the game last year) but i've also got a close friend who is a KU fan. It's like most fan bases out there.... you gotta take the good with the bad.

Are you kidding me? A chance for you to wear cyclone gear into Fog Allen and have 16,000 jayhawks scream at you; and then you walk out with a victory!! That is priceless my friend.
