She seems like a great addition. Left the Evansville team in January.

Curious though, how can she be immediately eligible? Are there different transfer rules for volleyball versus basketball? Why doens't she have to sit out a year?

think it's different with volleyball. If it's within conference you may have to sit. So when Malloy left for Baylor, she had to sit. I don't believe Hudson or Horner had to sit when they transferred in.

If the coaches and league agree, you can transfer and play the next year. Kate Harris transferred at the semester from MU to BU when they were still in the conference. She played right away. Malloy was different because she gave notice right before the season. No way would ISU let her play against them when they had been counting on her all summer.

This could be very interesting. Here is a quote from the Evansville website: "After finishing one of the strongest freshman campaigns in program history, Miranda will get even more experience beginning next week for the Puerto Rico National Team. Miranda will be one of four Junior National Players who will be playing in a tournament that will take place in Canada." And another quote: "As a sophomore this fall, the 6-foot-1 Puerto Rican was named to the all-Missouri Valley Conference second team. Miranda led the Aces (8-24, 2-16 MVC) in kills and aces and ranked third on the team in digs and blocks.
