can anyone recommend a good small generator for tailgating? All I need it for is to run a tv and satellite box and maybe a small stereo. I'd like to get a more quiet one and i'm having a hard time finding the sound level on most of them.

i was looking at this one here:
Amazon.com: Champion Power Equipment 42436 1500-Watt Portable Generator, CARB Compliant: Patio, Lawn & Garden

would something like this be better since it's fully enclosed?

Still will be loud, Honda and Yamaha the best but more spendy. Likely several threads to research this topic.

Generally most people will recommend the honda or yamaha models as they run well and importantly, they run quiet.

Of those 2 you linked id guess the second would run quieter. Definitely dont get a loud one that bugs all your neighbors.

If you do get a loud one, keep it at your tailgate! Don't position it away from you and then it is affecting others around you. You may not have a working generator by kickoff if you put it by others.

Honda and Yamaha generators are definitely the best of the best, but you might want to look at the Ryobi 2200 watt inverter generator. It's not quite as quiet as the Honda/Yamaha, but it's close. It's also about 1/2 the price of the Honda. Home Depot has them at a new "Lower price" of $549. As with everything you buy, read the reviews before making your decision.

Just saw these in the Farm Fleet ad. Actually may be worth a look for someone wanting a hint of quiet power. :)

I recently boiught a Yamaha and love it. It's very quiet but it's a little pricey. When I was doing my research I found several articles about Champion and they did not give any positive results. Good luck and Go Cyclones
