I've been having some wi-fi issues with my new Galaxy S5. It keeps dropping the wi-fi connection at home and then tell me it can't reconnect because the connection is too slow and wi-fi is disabled. I Googled it and found it is a known problem with the S5.

I have a dual-band router and when I connect to the 5G band it has no issues so I guess it is sort of an easy fix for me. Only drawback is the 5G band doesn't have as good of range as the 2.4G band and doesn't reach my entire house.

Just curious if anyone else has had any wi-fi issues with their S5?

On the whole I'd have to say I'm relatively unimpressed with the S5 so far. The phone I had before was an HTC Droid DNA, which was the top HTC offering from Verizon before they got the HTC One. At this point I'd have to say it was superior to the S5 and I wish I'd either kept it or gotten another HTC phone.

Wife got S5 I got HTC One M8. After about a week she got the M8, because of wifi issues and sound. We are both in love with the M8, only gripe is the in call ear protection sound volume setting is annoying.

Are you still happy with your M8? my S5 has continued to get more and more buggy. It stutters, lags and when I'm listening to music it crackles and cuts in and out, pauses, etc. I've done two factory resets to no avail. My wife has one and has no issues but she doesn't use it as much as I do for music and video. Wondering if I just got a lemon and I should try to exchange or just ditch altogether.

I haven't had any of those issues with my S5 and I use it for music while running every day. Are you using earbuds? Wired or bluetooth?

It doesn't matter if I use my wired or wireless headphones. I regularly connect to three different bluetooth devices around my house and it does it on all of those as well.

Wow, my Galaxy S4 doesn't have those issues. I'm surprised because I love the S4.

Are there plans to fix this at some point with the S5? That's disappointing.

Overpriced? Please post the actual price for the metal iPhone and your plastic S5.

You realize when talking about something being overpriced, that is an opinion based on the perceived value of the item. Obviously, my valuation of the iPhone is much lower than yours. At least I didn't name myself SamSungcLoNe.

Oh boy, a thread I guess I need to follow because I am in need of a new phone and was leaning heavy towards S5 purchase tomorrow.

There are a lot of hits on a google survey for this topic. Now I am

I still have an S2 and haven't switched to the S5 because of hearing about WiFi issues. I also figured I would wait for the S5 mini as I am tired of phones getting bigger. The S5 mini display is supposed to be pretty much the same size as the S2 display.
Hopefully the wifi issues will be fixed when it is released. Looks like August 7 so I guess we'll see how the reviews are.

Oh, I thought price was what something cost. Like my tickets cost $375 each. If the team loses several games the value goes down, but the price was the same. And my name has nothing to do with Apple, dipwad.
