This is why i continue to say the introduction of Gilstrap and Colvin will be a HUGE shot in the arm for our offense. I know a lot of people are not sure of where Colvin will be physically to play big 12 ball. To me, its simple, his athletic ability will have him on the floor day 1. This will move DG to the 2 and Gilstrap to the 3. That lineup from day one, even with the inexperience at PG will be a more dynamic offense that will not see the team score 46 points for a game.
I think the problem with our offense not being able to beat anyone off the dribble is incredibly inaccurate. In fact, i think DG can do this at will, but, as the PG he has two guys that float the three point line and are so inconsistent at making them that no defense ever really challenges the three because they're not afraid of it hurting them. We need a slasher or two that can get to the hoop (Colvin, Gilstrap) and one guy on the wing that can consistently shoot the three or drive (DG, Eik, Haluska, Lucca, Christopherson) and suddenly this anemic offense will really begin to blossom into something incredible!!!!!
The other thing that slashing to the hoop creates is big man fouls!!!!
I'm still extremely excited to get these guys into hilton after our bowl game in football!!!!!
