- started out shaky in non-con
- really turned it around in conference
- big opening win against Texas
- got a lot of confidence in A&M road win...team picked to win B12
- excited to play defending national champs
- joked that he just shook his head after he saw the bracket
- any team you play will be difficult matchup in this tournament
- will add "a few things" before UConn game.
- Royce will be difficult matchup for UConn. They haven't seen someone like him.
- 6 returning players from defending national champs will be huge challenge
- transfers really like each other and spent a lot of time together last year off the court, practicing and working out. chemistry developed last year.
- Trip to Italy really helped. Guys couldn't use their phones. Had to talk to each other.
- gives rules to players on social media, cell phones...ok with players using it as long as they're accountable.
- Lamb is as talented a player as anyone we'll see. Denmon a similar player.
- Drummond is huge. tough to score against.
- UConn has a number of players that can go on runs. Napier, Boatright.
- Didn't play smart against Texas.
- Didn't move the ball, stagnant, poor shot selection, "lost our mind" on defensive coverages.
- Stopped guarding in 2nd half when faced adversity and shots weren't falling.
- Played maybe best game against Baylor so frustrated with performance against Texas.
- Still has a lot of friends in NBA and gets asked often about Royce comparison. Says there really isn't anyone. Maybe Anthony Mason with the Knicks. Kevin Garnett similar passing skills for big man...no look passes, etc.
