ESPN - Agent wants players' union to investigate Twins' call-up snub of Liriano - MLB

I don't think they have much of a case, a team has every right to promote/demote players as they want and when your record and ERA is 0-3 and 11.32 at the start of the season that's enough "evidence" to say they had the right to make sure he was good and ready before he's called up. I'm guessing they want to try to trade Livan before calling him up so you can't really pull him from the rotation until he's traded.

Here's an article with Gardy talking about the situation:

Gardenhire bothered by Liriano situation | TwinsBaseball.com: News

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here," Gardenhire said. "No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team.

Gardenhire is the man!

Liriano's line from 7/22....

7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 10 K's. He was sent down to AAA and told to dominate at that level. Looks more and more like he is doing what he was told to do. The Twins need to bring him up now to make their move. They need to do what they can before becoming road warriors when they have to vacate the Dome for the convention.
