Saw her in a bar once in C.R. 10ish years ago. Also used to see Bruce Aune out and about occasionally. Close to Ron Burgundy status.

Pete Seifer was the man at KGAN, and I saw that his co-anchor Amy Johnson had some position in Linn County for a while.
Had someone in the know tell me Bruce Aune was quite the swordsman with the news women.

Doesn't steve deace have a nationwide show now? I may have disagreed with some of his politics but I don't remember anyone more entertaining when it came to sports.

Daily show on Blaze TV, home of Glenn Beck and others. My understanding is that it is all politics.

My google search tells me that Curt Menefee worked as the sports reporter for KCRG in Cedar Rapids for a handful of years.

He's currently the host of FOX NFL Sunday.

Laurie grooves does ad work for the Farm Bureau.

I thought Ric Silvistrieni (sp) opened a container/storage store at one point. I’ve also seen him do high school state basketball.
I think he also has a pizza joint near Merle Hay Mall.

I don't know if he actually worked there but he got his bachelors at Coe and interned there for sure. He has been back a couple of times in recent years for special events and such.

AJ Ellingson worked for KIMT in Mason City for many years until they relocated to Rochestor, MN. He did a very good job at KIMT covering the local high school sports. Every Friday night he and his crew would travel all over north iowa with their cameras capturing highlights of the local games. Then hurry back to the studio to put together a 15 minute Sports Overtime segment. Was always pretty impressive what they were able to put together in such a short amount of time. Now we are lucky if KIMT spends 30 seconds at the end of the Friday newscast to mention the final scores. They don't even do much for their local Minnesota teams now.

Now AJ does PR work and occasionally will Twitter some sports news.

A more recent one is Chris Hassel who went to ESPN then to CBS Sports. He's probably one of the few local media personalities that I can think of that advanced his career onto a national stage. Zubin Mehenti is another one that went to ESPN as well but I see that recently there are rumors floating around about his future there as he's been absent for a couple months now but appears he also have recently learned he has diabetes so may be a health thing why he hasn't been on air lately?

Add Jack Cafferty to the list. Was main anchor at WHO and jumped from Des Moines to the NBC affiliate as main anchor in NYC, then jumped to CNN and was there until he retired. Can't remember the years he was in Des Moines.

I ran across Elizabeth Klinge formerly of WHO and KCCI fame when I was watching a YouTube video about the drought in California. She's an anchor in Sacramento now.

I used to visit a friend in Raleigh about 10 years ago and Caitlyn Coyner from WHO-13 had moved to Raleigh.

I think Jennifer Mcdemed is in Kansas City now but not positive.

I ran into Elizabeth at the Botanical Gardens at a kid's camp thing, and she was really nice. Not long after that she moved to California.

I'm not sure if that was coincidence or not. :jimlad:

I remember Travis Justice coming to our school in maybe 5th grade? He was a big deal and FOX was having some travelling tour promo with her. I Challenge Travis or something? I wasn't able to go, I think we had a family thing that weekend.

McDermed went to KC from DSM, but is now in Minni and has been for a year or two now.

She is up in the Twin Cities and is missed around the Des Moines Metro.

I rarely watch the news anymore but I just saw Maria Lisignoli left also, she will be missed.

Ch 13 seems to have lost a lot of the younger reporters/anchors in the past year or 2 it seems like and especially seems odd most of them have been female too. Not sure if that maybe could be a result of the Sonya Heitshusen mess that there possibly is a management issue there? Seems like Maria got anchor job which probably is a move up for her since she wasn't getting a ton of air time as an anchor with 13. Christina Salonikas kind of quietly left last year and I don't think she has caught on anywhere yet. KCCI lost Lauren Donovan and Bree Sullivan this year. I can't even tell you who is on the Ch 5 news as I never watch it.

Courtney Johns appears to be an anchor in Omaha now and I can't remember who the meteorologist before Amber was but I can picture her and I think her name maybe started with A too but I remember her and Courtney sometimes would join the Morning Rush for a segment from time to time. Another one KCCI lost a few years ago that was good was Shaina Humphries who is now in Philadelphia.

Anyone in NE iowa remember the ever annoying weather guy Ian Leonard? He's now in the Twin cities trying to be funny and he fails miserably. Even Pat Sajak is funnier than Ian and that's saying something. I'm pretty sure Ian only appeals to the 80-105 year old demographic (if they stay up that late).
