Anything done probably wont expand the actual capacity much, if at all. You have to consider there are 6200 Hillside tickets, plus band seating now to replace, so doing something like Clemson, Missouri, K-State, Arkansas etc. would only replace those hill sides with actual seats, but giving the Stadium a more finished look and better atmosphere. As well as more revenue generating capabilities. Plus the fact that they are going to build something in form of the Performance Center there anyway, it sounds like they might kill 2 birds with one stone.
I thought each hillside was only 2,500? Probably even less on those hillsides now that the scoreboard supports are in the way...

Two video boards, getting rid of the upper deck needs. Tunnel below the seats under the video boards.

Performance center/Jake remodeled in the middle for family area. Move bad to the corner by the student section.

Wasn’t a fan of KSU’s press box but a HUGE fan of how that endzone turned out.

Edit: Would like to see stadium seats there as well, matches SEZ and less seating...win/win.

West Virginia has the same base blueprint has JTS, and here's what they have:

Oh, and Clemson's take on the grass for those who want to keep the hillside area (not saying I agree/disagree with this, but just putting it out there).

This isn’t entirely about expansion. It’s about turning the NEZ from an eye sore into something big time. Also adding the performance facility, player lounge, etc. that Campbell wants.

Do it once and do it right.
I agree. When the skycam at the TCU game was looking south, the stadium looked great. It was full and intimidating. When it was heading north, it looked like crap.

I know it's something needed in this age of schools competing not only on the field but also in recruiting amenities, but I really hate the thought of getting rid of the hillsides. I spent a lot of Saturdays when younger throwing the ball around and rolling down the hillside.

Would be great to incorporate them into the plans. Still build or improve the NEZ area and leave the hillsides there for the Jr Cyclones.

Not sure why we are talking about expanding when we only sell out against Iowa and Uni.
It isn't about expansion, it's for the better facility. Performance Center, Dining Hall, Offices. And if it's in the end zone, its going to look dumb without seats.

p.s. we sellout early season games every year. The demand is definitely there.

I get what you are saying, but if we are truly trying to "finish" or fill the stadium, I think the NEZ needs to be entirely constructed of stands and new building, if not going all the way to the top of the stadium, very close. Filling that space with video boards would still leave an "openness" in the stadium, IMO. WVU doesn't look bad, but its building/suites still seems short and leaves a somewhat open look in the endzones. Same with Mizzou, that just looks chopped up too. Clemson's looks better, and they have much taller and steeper grandstands than JTS does.

If you're going to do the project, do it right the very first time. Don't try to use tricks to fill space. Would hope we can actually attach the videoboard on the building and get rid of the eyesore steel supports.

Good grief.

It’s time to stop asking what we can do without, and start asking what we need.
No doubt it'll be a cool addition and completely finish the stadium, I think we're years away from this happening, unless we get a giant $50 million donation.

We've only sold out 4 times since upgrading the SEZ.

Honest question. How do other schools/teams size their stadiums? To their largest possible crowd or to some amount of seats above average attendance?

It was released at some point that they sell 6200 jr club/hillside tickets plus 500 band, cheerleader and on field tickets to get to 61500.

You realize we had won 6 total games in the 2 years since the south endzone expansion? You expected every game to be sold out anyway? Not sure what battle you're trying to fight since it probably won't be your money going towards any new projects.

I would hope they did like I originally posted and add a Family area, for jr Cy club/ family pack types in the NEZ like K-St. Which allows kids to get up close to players for hand shakes and High 5s etc. They sell over 3000 family pack tickets there.

It’s more about getting this done at the same time as building a performance center in the area, and less about prioritizing cool additions. I guess you could build the performance center elsewhere for a little cheaper, but it’s more efficient to get multiple things done at once.

It’s not going to start tomorrow, but we’re likely in the long lead time for these types of projects.
