Kind of funny how when the team was struggling people talking about staff changes but when things are turned around that all of the credit goes to BF.

It was implied in several threads after "whats-her-name" (really sad I forgot already) left the program after BF yelled at her.

I don't think it was.

Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything. I've just seen several people state that people were calling for BF's head in January, and I don't remember it that way at all. I remember people taking great offense at anyone who dared criticize any aspect of BF's coaching and implying that anyone who did wanted him gone.

July 2nd, huh? My guess is they would go someplace else other than Denny's for dinner that night.

That's also the way I recall the threads here and on CR. Bill has done great things at ISU but he is just a man, not a god and not above criticism. I’ve been a big fan of Bill’s and the program but have ended this season with some mixed emotions. I do not have the “I can hardly wait for next yearâ€￾ feeling I have had at the end of the last dozen seasons. Sort of sad, at least for me.

BoxsterCy expressed my feelings exactly. As we left Hilton last night, I told my spouse that I would miss Loz and Chaz and wish it could have ended better but that it was time for this season to be over.

It's time for everyone to heal physically and mentally, look at the lessons that were learned this year and come together as a team and staff and apply what was learned for next year.

I am glad this season is over, but also proud of the team and BF for what they accomplished through this year.

I guess, I am excited to see the team next year, our post game should continue to be strong, and I am excited to see a couple/few quick guards join the line up. I have high anticipation for seeing Moody and Bingley play together.

I have seen Bingley play. She is a gamer on both sides of the ball and one heck of a scorer. Her ability and desire to score should take a lot of pressure off Moody.

I feel bad for Nicki. She had her best game of the year in Kansas City, then the game Saturday....

IMO that was an issue at the end of the season, tired because of the great Feb. we had but I think Pop & Anna were hurt more than reported (as you do not tell your opponents who is hurting) just watching them play. Pop only played short stretches at a time (even when not in foul trouble) and Anna's dead eye three point shooting wqas off (right shoulder issue). With what we get next year coming in to go with the experience coming back bodes for an even better season next year.

Go Cyclone womens basketball !!

I kind of do. Loz and Chas have both made huge strides while here, but against teams with great pressure defense they just don't have the physical ability to handle it. That's not any fault of their own; it's just who they are. We're getting at least two, maybe three guards (if Vanloo makes it here) that have more of an ability to do that, although as freshmen we'll probably be banging our heads against the wall watching them at first. :)

We don't make the tournament the past two years without Loz and the past year without Chas. But change is exciting.

Anna needs a healthy offseason. I don't think she's had one yet.

IMO, ISU needs to hire a specialist in women's conditioning who is also understanding of the issues of tall athletes. Using the football S&C staff is a reason why WBB and the VB team started these seasons with injuries. Not saying they don't know what they are doing, but from what I heard about some of the drills....let's just say the girls are not football players.

I definitely meant to imply that in my comment in that thread. We used to be the team with the defensive advantage, the teaching/coaching edge like WGB had Saturday. BF knows the game far better than I do, but I'm sure he is wondering what he can do to regain the edge. We have plateaued a bit while everyone else has gotten better in their teaching skills. Being comfortable is not the same thing as being successful. Sometimes you have to choose...

Andrew Moser is the strength and conditioning coach for the women's team. He is not one of the football S&C coaches. He is the head strength and conditioning coach for the Olympic sports. He doesn't work directly with all of the Olympic sport athletes, but he does work directly with the WBB team.

Technically. He is an ex football player and a weightlifter....his otj training was as a grad assistant at ISU....Most personal trainers have the exact same qualifications he has, doesn't mean they know what they are doing.

from my limited perspective, all I see is that the WBB team and VB team for that matter has repeatedly started seasons with a lot of injuries incurred over the summer - when they're focused on their S&C drills. Matter of fact BF himself said this year was probably the worst ever with almost everyone hurt.

Now, he might be really great and just spread thin, or it just might be coincidence that we have had tons of injuries, doesn't mean that he couldn't use some help, or someone who specializes in women's sports medicine on his staff.

While we may not have the funds of at UT or OU, we are big 12, and one thing to not ignore is the importance of the S&C staff: For example, UT:

I completely agree with you. Coach Moser is a good guy and a good S&C coach, but I think he could use some help to try and focus more specifically on women's sports.

This could be the single most important thing that is needed to get players to the next level. One would think that BF and CJL should be in positions to make this happen.
