First crack in Ku's armor ...

"As he started looking at schools, an Adidas rep tried to push us toward a school in the Big Ten and another in the Big 12 that Adidas had contracts with. There is no doubt they are surrogates for the schools."

Imagine if I was a Ku fan, I'd try to rationalize my way out of this as well. But sooner or later it's going to drop on Lawrence.

Believe that everyone else in the Big 12 is with Nike, except Tech (UA). Nothing to see here.

It's not surprising that Surly left out the last sentence of that paragraph.
“Adidas pushes their kids to go to Adidas schools, and it’s the same with Nike.”

According to articles posted this weekend, Self is best of friends with the Adidas dude. Stop being delusional. Your program is headed down a very dark path.

Wow, you've seen articles saying Self is best friends with the Adidas dude and you didn't post them here? But you did post some kid's wordpress site called Chat Sports. So far there's no evidence KU knew anything, because if there was, KU would have been charged last week. What we do know is a former K-State coach has been charged.

"Gatto blossomed at Adidas, traveling the world with Kobe Bryant, befriending Kansas’ Bill Self and Mississippi State’s Ben Howland ..."

So we're going from "they are best friends" to "befriending Bill Self?" KU could be guilty in this and so could K-State, but if these schools were smart they would make sure part of the deal was that they don't know and don't want to know exactly what their shoe companies are doing to help their schools. If Self is stupid enough to get involved with it or have his coaches involved, then he's done. I guess we'll wait and see.

And? Do you seriously not think that Nike reps don't try to push kids to go to Nike schools and UA reps try to push kids to UA schools? Duh.

Haven't seen tuco weigh in on this matter. Must be tough on him to watch.
Tough to watch Rick Pitino get fired? It's been fantastic, I think he is a slimy little creep. As for Kansas, nothing has happened to us at all so it hasn't been a problem at all to watch. I find it kinda interesting. Honestly, Kansas has LOST more players thanks to being an Adidas school than we've gained. Between the kids who'd rather go with Nike because they're cooler to the kids to the payments of Nike to keep kids at Nike schools, we've definitely been 2nd tier when it comes to the recruiting Big Boys. Duke, Kentucky and Arizona (shockingly, all Nike schools) have dominated the top tier of recruiting for the last decade.

Late Night was this weekend, we're looking good in early 2018 recruiting. Life is good for this KU fan right now.
