Final Score:

ISU 31
UNLV 27

I think this is going to be another close one. Defense will look better and offense will open up the playbook and move the ball more effectively.

UNLV won't roll over and will make this a very interesting game till the end.

not that close. I say 42-17. Cyclones come out very determined after last week's near tragedy. Offense stays aggressive the entire game.

Most seem comfortable with the -14 spread?

For any bettors: The talk of the week is Texas Tech (at UTEP) -7 and Virginia Tech (at UNC) -12.5.

I'll take UTEP (+7) & Va Tech (-12.5) on those bets. I also take the Cyclones (-14).

No way for UTEP +7, I'll take Tech.

3 team Parlay: Tech -7, Va Tech -12.5, ISU -14...lay 10/win $60

Make it more interesting: Add Over 52 for ISU/UNLV...lay 10/win $123

After three qtrs of an offensive slugfest with both D's bending and breaking, the Clones take control and never look back. With 'The Jack' rockin after Parker and the 'Tuba' tag team the UNLV QB, forcing a turnover and capturing the oh so elusive momentum, Meyer and the boys pull off three straight two minute drill type possesions, allowing Iowa State to defeat the Rebels of UNLV by a final score of 49 - 28.

(This edit is in response to Amyk33's post below this one concerning the weather. After she burst my bubble by throwing the weather into the equation, I will change my guess to 28-14, but Parker and Tuba will still flatten the UNLV QB!!)

It's supposed to be wet and rainy...a little on the cold side tomorrow evening. Don't under estimate the weather. These conditions will slow the passing game and keep us on the ground. My guess is 31-14.

Good point. That along with the new clock rules may not allow Over 52 points...

ISU: 35
UNLV: 14

Defense has had a week to make some adjustments, and they will look much better this weekend.

Running game will open up a little more, which will help the passing game and offense, as a whole.

I would say 45-17 once again (my prediction was 45-17 for Toledo as well).

I will be happier if this is another close victory, something like 27-24 - that way we are not too overly confident about our young team before the 16th.

So my prediction:

45-17 or 27-24 (maybe OT here too)

I too have faith that our defense will be improved - but only so much can happen in a week. UNLV put up passing 332 yards last week. Granted, Idaho St. isn't the best competition - but they won 54 - 10. I can only pray that they didn't get last week's game tape against toledo. (on a side note, i hope that scott chandler is sick on the days that the team reviews those tapes. Don't want TE #91 giving him any ideas...) I see us putting a 2 - TD gap on the rebels in the first half, followed by a conservative nail-biting 3rd qtr. We pull away in the 4th with some more bowen and parker stops. Final score, 31 - 24.

We get the last score of the game in the early 4th quarter and milk it to the locker room. Weather will dictate that we run and rain will slow Hinds and the rebel passing attack. The Defense will get 2 turnover and look special against the inferior rebels. ISU heads into Iowa City as the underdog to face an overated, overconfident Iowa team in front of national audience on ESPN. Needless to say, we all know what will happen come the 16th, so I'll wait till next week for that.

On the road...
I have ISU big in this one: 45-17. I think Stevie and Bret will both have huge games and the secondary will come out fired up this weekend and make some big plays. Only 8 days guys till we get those queers from Iowa ******.

The Rebels may be able to keep it close for the 1st half, but in the end the clones will prove to be superior. score at the half 14-10, but the clones pull away about half way thru the third quarter.
