I effing hate Tootsee Roll. Just terrible. The Dance Team at my high school did a routine to it at a pep rally, including their token white girl. It was an abomination.

Whenever I think of Whoomp There it Is, I remember when Beavis and Butthead watched that video. They started dancing to it and singing Whoomp, there's my butt!

I tried to find a video but it looks like they've all been removed form youtube.

Those are my thoughts on your favorite Jock Jams.

My favorite Jock Jam is, of course, "Hip Hop Hooray" by Naughty By Nature. For obvious reasons.
We had it played when the wedding party entered the reception.

Not sure if its a Jock Jam or not, but I do love me some Sandstorm. Never had heard it until the OkSt game, and it just was perfect getting everyone even more psyched up between TD and onside kick. On the broadcast, you can see James White on the sideline nodding his head as it plays. Just still gets me going I guess. It's what I use as a wakeup alarm on my phone.

I always found it odd, that the first words in "Get Ready for This" are "Y'all Ready for this".

Should I feel proud or ashamed that I know almost all of those songs just by their titles.

I guess that just makes me a product of the 90s.

Hip Hop Hooray, Jump Around, and Zombie Nation are all good in my book. Everything else can play on repeat in the visiting locker room.

You can wear your pride with shame or wear your shame with pride. Just go with it cuz it's yours no matter what.

'Jump Around'
'Tubthumping'
'Unbelievable' (Oh!)

Here's my Tubthumping story.

The Christmas after it blew up on the radio, my 12 year old cousin asked for the album for Christmas. Of course her VERY religious and conservative parents hadn't heard what the song was about.

The CD was quickly taken away from her when they actually heard the lyrics.

Fun fact, I still know all the words to "Whoomp There it Is." Granted most of the song is this exchange: "Can you dig it?" "We can dig it."

Not exactly sure why, but I've always had a soft spot for "Let Me Clear My Throat" by DJ Kool.

Skimming over the list, Mo Money Mo Problems would probably get honorable mention. Lots of good stuff on there, though.

Maybe the next thread can be if you created a new Jock Jams album, what would you put on it??

Sorry Katniss, not a Jock Jam song.
Definitely Jock Rock rather than Jock Jams.

I love the jock jams station on Pandora. No diggity should clearly be the winner out of those 5 CDs though.

If parents were religious and conservative, they probably would've been against the album all the way through, so it was probably for the best ... they might've yanked it away after seeing lyrics to "Mary Mary."
