I like murphys in urbandale. Nice and quiet and they have some really good beers on tap.

People's Court downtown is the best live music venue of its size I have ever been to.

I also enjoy Zimms just for hanging out, and don't forget AKs Beaverdale.

I like People's court as well but every time I've been there (3 times) it's been completely empty.

For those of you who haven't found Shorty's yet downtown, you should check it out. During the day and early evening you can get in by going into the grocery store on Court Ave. It is located in the basement. After hours, you will have to go around back - there is door that is unmarked that will take you down some stairs into the bar.

It is very chill and they always have some decent food and very good drinks. Try a Manhattan.

Miller Highlife Lounge

High Life, Hessen Haus, and Royal Mile.

Luckily, I think they're all brother bars? A friend's cousin is the part-owner in each of them.

Miller Highlife Lounge

High Life Lounge is great. They have some seriously good food for amazingly low prices. I don't know how you can beat that burger basket. The old beer signs on the walls are PRICELESS. Great place to have a couple before/after an I-Cubs game.

That's the only one I've never been in. What's the theme there?

You list the High Life Lounge as one of you favorites - but haven't been into El Bait Shop?

You realize they share a common door - right?

Over 100 beers on tap - only 60-70 actually functioning at any given time.

I like these two as well. Great to hit when my bike club is downtown or before/after an I-Cubs game. Just don't expect anything resembling prompt service.....

That's what makes me laugh - all I have to do is turn the OTHER WAY, and I'll have been there!

I went to High Life Lounge last year after the Mediacom Classic, and it was crazy-busy. I can only imagine after an I-Cubs game.
