I was reminded recently in a conversation with a fellow college bball enthusiast of some of my favorite teams (not any particular school) to watch historically. While there were several, the teams I always had the most fond memories of watching was those (as they dubbed them) "Flyin Illini" teams of the late 80's. In particular my favorite player was Kenny Battle. Damn he was entertaining!Anybody else?

I would upload a file of them dunking all over Iowa on youtube, but I don't know how to do that.

The 2000 Cyclone Team obviously is the favorite. The 88-89 Illini are also a great one. I liked what George Mason did recently. The Valpo team with Bryce Drew was a nice one (sweet 16 I believe?).

Add all our Cyclone teams from the 90s of course :).

The great UNLV teams of '90 and '91 were alot of fun to watch. I also liked the Fab Five until we found out about the $$$$.

My all time fav's are any ISU team that went to the Dance.

My favorite team was the Sweet 16 team that had Willoughby, Cato, Pratt, Holloway, Bankhead, etc.

Besides the aforementioned elite eight and sweet 16 teams, I liked the last two years Florida teams. About how they all came back for a 2nd title shot, and got it.

I actually liked the Willoughby/Cato/Bankhead/Pratt/Holloway team the best.

For a #2 I'd like to throw a vote out there for Loyola Marymount team with Hank Gathers. A small team like them getting to #1 with exciting play. And how they handled his death that year, good stuff in every way.
