I'm sure there are, but if you don't take it more than likely some grand kid borrowing their grandma's care will park there.

I saw plenty of that at Hilton. I was in a wheelchair for the first five conference games in Jan & Feb. We had all kinds of problems getting parked. One attendant told us that people showed up two hours before the games so that they could get the spaces next to Hilton. Watched plenty of people walking to those cars after games, while more than a few of us in chairs pushed up & over the road to the lot on the other side. Fun times. Gave me a renewed respect for the struggles of folks in wheelchairs.

There will be a tent with the games on at Cowles Commons (scroll down to the Hoops and Hops under entertainment on the link below). It's about 4-5 blocks from the arena.

Also, they announced on KXNO yesterday that they got permission from the NCAA to have the ISU game on in the concourses on Thursday. They are still working on the details (it will be limited - not all TVs), but more info should coming out soon.

I just heard about that hoops & hops thing on the radio on the way in this morning. But the concourse info is REALLY exciting!!!

My mom has a pass. If I can drop her off at the front door, I will do that and avoid using the pass. Only time that I will use it is when there is no way to reasonably drop her at the front doors. I feel that we have ways to avoid using it and leave it for those who need it.

The local HS has about 6-8 spots that can be used for handicapped parking. About half pull up and watch in their vehicles. The rest jump out and run to the top of the bleachers. Ticks me off, my mom will struggle to attend a game. (My inlaws do this also)

I mean I don't think a lot of the NCAA regional sites are desirable destinations by any means. Dayton Ohio wasn't exactly the most awesome city on earth... you go for the games.

True story: I saw multiple mobile homes parked at cuttys today decked out in UK stickers. I had to pull in. Talked to them, said very impressed with DSM area and excited about the golf dome having showers in the locker rooms.

Indoor plumbing was an excitement, I'm sure.

bringmagicback, "I'm sure it is fun following the team with your RV, but I bet it will be nice to get back home after the weekend to sleep in your regular bed".

UK fan, "huh?"

Actually True Story: The golf dome, clubhouse, and everything that was there was torn down over a month ago. Why are you lying?

I knew it was closing but since when has it been torn down?

I first noticed it down on 2/26. So I guess it hasn't been over a month. I regret my mistake, unlike bringmagicback who lies for unknown reasons.

I certainly don't have a problem with a 5 minute walk. I parked nearly a mile away in KC and walked to the P&L district, just so I could avoid paying for parking.

The point being that where the Sprint Center is in relation to their entertainment district trumps where Wells Fargo is in relation to Court Avenue. I find it hard to believe that the atmosphere outside of Wells Fargo arena will be comparable to that on outside of the Sprint Center.

Just my opinion that Wells Fargo would have benefited by being in the middle of where people want to mingle, not 5 minutes away on top of a hill, away from everything. May not be a big deal for you, or I, but a 5 minute walk for most Americans is an eternity.

Omahas arena was a similar distance from the old market as WF is from Court. When they started to pile up the events, new bars and restaurants moved in and that space is pretty much gone now. DM is fine. It's not the P&L, but it probably has more character. Personally, I agree with the poster that said the P&L was cookie cutter. It's fun when ISU is playing, but outside of that, I'd rather go to Westport. Probably not a popular opinion.
