I do not understand why any cyclone fan is angry or upset with this team. For the past however many years, a loss in the conference tournament would mean the season is over. Dont get me wrong, the loss was a bit disappointing, but for cryin out loud WERE GOING TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT. Buckle up and enjoy it. ALL IN

Iowa State is better than Texas. No excuse to lose to them in KC. A person can be mad about tonight and still appreciate the good things the team has accomplished. Going 1 and done as a #3 seed blows.

Being upset is fine, ripping players and the team and the coaches isn't fine. They've accomplished quite a bit considering ISU has been terrible for quite awhile.

Texas beat the Cyclones two out of three games this year. Exactly how are the Cyclones better than Texas? I would say they are pretty evenly matched teams with a slight edge to Texas. No shame in that.

Agreed. Very evenly matched. Two teams with a star player with a good supporting cast. If J'covan gets hot and Kbongo penetrates and hits shots they can make a nice run in the tourney.

Kansas State beat Missouri 2 out of 2 this year. Would you say Kansas State is overall a better team than Missouri?

Why were we the #3 seed and they were the #6 seed then? Why are they on the bubble and ISU is a tourney lock? Why did ISU win 12 conference games and they won 9? We all played the same round-robin schedule. ISU clearly proved through the entire body of work they're better than Texas.

It's a crappy loss and people are mad. I would certainly hope so.

Not to that extent.

Why not? I would agree with awd4cy. I think we match up poorly with Texas because they have athletic guards and a big long 7 footer. Scotty, Allen, and Tyrus are not very good defenders, and Texas' guards penetrate constantly and challenge them. Chapman might not be the most skilled, but he is 3-4 inches then whoever is guarding him. I would argue that we played our worst 2 games of the conference season against Texas.

Iowa State does just enough for you to care and then they crush your soul and kick you in the nads.

Losing this game was unacceptable.

Happy about the results for this season so far, but losing to an inferior Texas team in the Big 12 tourney is nothing short of disappointing.

It is disappointing.

I'm sure if we assume it was an off-game, and we could "trade" that for better performance in the NCAA tournament, most of us would do it in a heartbeat. If it suggests this team has reached its ceiling, maybe not.

If people want to keep it in perspective, think about this: If Iowa State had lost that first conference game at home to Texas, might the season have gone much differently (in a bad way)? That first Big 12 week seemed to be dividing line between a lackluster non-conference slate and what followed.

I don't intend to justify the loss. Just a different way to assess its weight.

And both times it happened, ISU just didnt show up for large portions of those games. @UT was a very disappointing game, and so was this one.

To an extent I agree. However, the team didn't show up to play last night, and I'd say it's fair to call them out on it. And the "ISU had a great season" line does not let them off the hook for that performance.

IdahoCyclone, Your post reflects the general consensus, I believe. My comments are not bashing you. Having said that, Texas has better athletes, I don't think that can be argued. Texas pulled one out of who knows where last night. Even a blind sow finds an ear of corn once in a while. They had an A game (one of the best performances all year) we had a D game below average performance. I haven't figured out weather it was more, we came out with no fire, or did Texas come out on fire? Or was it both? I believe it was both.

We have at least one game left, hopefully our intensity level will be high at the beginning of the game.

The frustrating thing is that Texas didn't have an A game. They had a C+ game at best. It was ours and we pizzed it down our legs
