Bowlbsby (sp) gave Alfraud a 1 year extension today pushinmg his contract to 2010. If i was an Iowa fan, i would be pissed that an Ad who is leaving is signing off contract extensions. I would hold off until the new AD got here. But I am not an Iowa fan so i am glad that this went down. Heres to alford getting an extension through 2020!

I loved this! only Iowa would give an extension to a coach who so many of their own fans dislike!

-clone33, just till 2020? na, i want him there till 2050 and then they can name a building or something after him! (in memberance of his 1 or 2 good seasons)

He had a good season last year, and the 1 year is only to help with recruiting. Recruits want to know that their coach has a job.

At this point it really doesn't matter how many years is on his contract. If their new AD wants him out then he will be gone. If the AD wants to keep him then he will give yet another contract. The only thing Bowlsby did was increase his buyout by adding another year to it.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Keeler has a great article on this in the Register.
I just gave props to Keeler, what is this world coming to?
