Hello,

I need a U.S Diversity credit, and since I'm already taking a bunch of hard classes, I'd appreciate it if I could have a list of classes that would fulfill the U.S Diversity credit, and are relatively easy. I know there are similar posts like this, but a lot can change in a year.

Thanks in advance.

Son took History of Rock n Roll, Music 304, but Music Listening, Music 102, is a prereq.

I took this...

ECON 321: Economics of Discrimination
(Cross-listed with W S). (3-0) Cr. 3.

Prereq: ECON 101
Economic theories of discrimination. Analysis of the economic problems of women and minorities in such areas as earnings, occupations, and unemployment. Public policy concerning discrimination. Poverty measurement and antipoverty programs in the U.S.
Meets U.S. Diversity Requirement

I was an economics major, but there was nothing technical or mathematical about it.

Yes, 101 is a prereq, but many people take that at some point anyways.

You go to class, have polite conversations about modern political debates involving equity (wage gaps, gender gaps, racial gaps, inequality, the minimum wage, things like that), learn some techniques that people use to research about them. One group project presentation and a bunch of little worksheets and easy tests based entirely off the classroom material. Definitely fits the niche for a good US diversity credit.

I think for easy, people here usually recommend HD FS 276, Human Sexuality, or some of the American Indian Studies classes.

US Religions is what I took. Pretty interesting.Though reading through, I'd take that Econ class. Interesting topic and sounds like a good current issues type of class.
