Don't look now, but the early 2018 football recruiting leader in the Big 12 (per 24-7) is...

Kansas!

Coach Beatty already has 6 commits with a 89.73 average (we had a 84.09 average this year). This would have finished a close 2nd, average rating-wise,to Oklahoma this year. Obviously this is way early and the bigger challenge of keeping the recruits has yet to play out...not to mention the question as to whether Kansas can deliver once it gets better recruits. Good for the Big 12 overall if they do improve...just not against us!

While it's pretty impressive that they committed in the first place, I highly doubt they stay there. Definitely not all of them, they'll be very fortunate to keep just one.

Beatty is a good fit for them. He's a player's coach that is making strides in the right direction. If they had more fan support, his sell would be easier. I don't see him going winless in conference. He can motivate them enough to surprise a team that overlooks them.

1 down how many to go?
This is truth, similar to 2019 recruit commit for us, way too early in the process to say these guys are truly committed. Getting commits at all are great, but if KU goes 1-fore, or 2-for again they will drop like flies....
