Does Kane remind anyone else of Royce White?

I see a lot of similarities in Royce White and DeAndre Kane. They both are built like warriors. They both seem to have that fiery attitude, and they aren't afraid to talk smack on the court. They both are not great shooters, but are able to get to the rim. Even their looks are somewhat similar. If Kane was 4 inches taller he would almost be identical to Royce White IMO. What do you guys think?

For some reason I see Jake Anderson when I watch him play. Granted, Kane is bigger and more athletic than Jake, but they both have an ability to quietly fill a stat sheet and make big plays.

I see a lot of comparisons to other players in Kane. Has a little bit of Royce in him, can play a lot of positions. Has a lot of Jake Anderson in him, all around solid player who can rise above his height and rebound with the big boys, very heady player. Also has some Curtis Stinson in him in terms of natural athletic ability at the guard position and ability to score.

I desperately want to add in the Jamaal Tinsley factor with an ability to take over games. Perhaps he doesn't have that, but if he does that simply makes us harder to beat.

Some reason when I look at Kane I see Royce White. The way they dribble and their style of attacking the rim are almost identical. They are both Amazing leaders that interact with the crowd

Sorry......but I see Curtis Stinson. Not the build or anything, but just his style of play, and his ability to involve others. Plus, I think he is going to drive Big 12 coaches nuts.

Way up there
We dont have much height, but one place we'll probably always have a height/weight advantage is Kane. We showed some isolation plays with him on the block, much like we did with Royce. If Kane can do that consistently, it'll open up shots for guys like Thomas, Long and Morris. We also have Ejim and Niang who can create their own shots on the block, we'll see Fred making teams pick their poison and abuse mismatches wherever they allow. I think we will still play wide open on offense but it may be more of an inside out 3pt attack than what we had last year.

I see a lot of Royce in Kane, too (some of it may be the body build and how they look when they're running "point") ... in another thread, I noted Kane having elements of White, Clyburn and Lucious. It's like Fred found a player who combined aspects of previous impact players.

Kane is matchup nightmare...might even be more tough to guard than Clyburn. His ability to post up and really slash into the lane is so fun to watch.

Deandre Kane's build and game reminds me a lot Mark Jackson. I also feel Fred uses him the same way.

This is why talent should want to play for Fred. He is great at dictating the match-ups to the player's favor. How much Fred has been able to successfully bring the NBA approach has been a pleasant surprise.

I was thinking the same thing. Many similarities in mannerisms and physical traits, sans the baggage
