My father in law worked as a butcher his whole life. He worked at a place that had a "needler", thats what he called it. He would cut top sirloin and run through this device two times. They were very close seceond place to fillets. They stayed moist and cooked a bit faster. You couldn't tell they had been needled unless you looked really close. It wasnt hand held it was rollers or belts, I was told. I bought a hand help one but it doesn't do the job e the contraption he used.

My MIL insists chicken should be washed for health reason. I won't wash chicken for health reasons, and I personally believe washing it dries it out the tiniest bit, but I haven't done any research to back that up.

My MIL is a nurse.

My mom is a retired RN and she gave me a WTF look when I asked her if she ever rinsed off chicken before she cooked it. I was never able to play hooky as a kid either. "You're fine, get your butt to school" was her quick response every time I tried.

In order of family-friendly-ness and keeping things clean and SFW, I am changing the title of the thread. While things can be fun, we also want to maintain a level of civility and appropriateness above our brothers out East.

And no, nobody had reached out to me or requested the change, it was of my own decision.

Yes, I know. My wife reminds me every day when I joke with the kids that I am still a kid, just an 80 year old one with a walker. But, I sometimes go a little too far and should be a better example.

But I still bought a remote controlled hidden fart sounding device on Amazon this past weekend:)
