This is not a thread to start a Switch to DTV or go to the hopper because without knowing my house setup, the cost gets a little crazy with the Hopper or Genie. Especially the Genie. Even if I use and RF Modulator and mirror some of the Mini Genies.

The real question is does anyone know how to put 2 722k receivers on the same coax network?
So if I were to go to a spare bedroom I could turn the channel and get Receiver 1 on channel 72 and Receiver 2 on Channel 65 or something like that.

I am only really worried about 2 big tv's for HD (which are covered on the HDMI port on the boxes themselves) The others I just want a signal that I can see in SD.

Not sure about the interference if you start putting things together. But I also don't know what the heck I am talking about.
Thanks!

OK, not an expert, but this sounds like something I did in my old house. I had TV's all over the place, but only ever used a couple of them at a time. I had one receiver in the living room with the DVR, and one receiver for the rest of the house that was a dual tuner sitting in the basement by the rest of the main house wiring. The satellite signal came into the house and ended up with 2 output signals from the dual tuner receiver. Those 2 signals went thru a combiner, I think, and into one coax cable that was split to all the other rooms in the house with TV's...I think with an amplifier in line to support that many splits. Then, between the rest of the TV's in the house, you could watch 2 different things. One on one channel, one on the other. There was an RF remote for each tuner...so you had to carry that around to whatever TV you wanted to watch. Also, I had to buy an old set of analog rabbit ears to hook up to the RF antenna on the receiver to allow the remotes to work from that far away. Like you said, the rest of my house was all SD TV's, not sure you could do it with HD.

As for the details of making it happen...can't help much beyond that...I paid someone a couple hundred bucks to do it, but it saved a ton on not paying monthly fees on 5 receivers that very rarely ever got used.

I might not have read your question very well but why do you want to hook up two 722k's on the same network when that model already allows two feeds?

Trying to provide 4 different tuners for 4 different people. But I also have spare bed rooms, Patio, Garage, Master Bath etc...that I want to get those 2nd tuners to without having 6 receivers to pay for. That would cost a lot. I don't really care about HD at all these tvs.

Right now. I have 1 722k running my main living HD Tv and my Master, Master Bath, Basement Bed, Garage, patio and Office in SD. So basically I am getting 6 Tvs off one receiver. Other than my Master Bed/Bath none of the others get used much. So this is great for me. I just ordered a couple extra RF remotes for $10 each of Amazon and I have instant TV :)

I have other TV's in the house that I wan to be able to put the other 722K on. My question of putting both on the same network is just me being curious about it. I thought I have seen this somewhere. Just wanted to know how to do it.

Not sure what you mean by network...but if you mean run the signal of both thru the same coax cable...yes, that can be done with the combiner I mentioned. It puts 2 signals on the same coax. So in my case, I didn't have 2 boxes on the same line, but the two tuners of one box on the same line.

Thanks for the info. By network I mean "home run" or Where all the coax comes into my basement etc...
I think what you are saying is what I am talking about. Did you have issues with it?

No issues...it was SD, which I think you're fine with...I liked my setup. I asked the low cost 'slam 'em in' satellite installers, got the blank stare, or 'you can't do that' because they wanted the money for selling the extra receivers. I called a local audio/video place that sells equipment/installation/security systems/high end setups, and they got me just what I wanted. Like I said, I ended up with one dual tuner box in the basement where all the wiring for the house was, and it fed 2 signals out thru one coax to all the rooms other than the living room (where the other box was). You could watch 2 channels on any of those TV's (one channel each receiver).

I would call Satellite City in Ankeny or Scott's TV on Hubbell. I think either one would be willing to help you. I have my 722k setup as a whole home feed and love it. Will not go to hopper or Directv because Dish offers this. It is really awesome. Never thought to hook 2 together.

I also have 2 211 receivers and 1 of those I take to the game with the tailgater. Works awesome.

It would be interesting to know this, as I would like to combine channel 3 from my 211 and back feed to the other tvs with my output from the 722k.

One other comment is I have an additional tv out on my 722k which I just got a new one to replace an old one. It didn't have the off air antennae module included and Dish sent it to me after I complained I lost it when they replaced the old one. The module allows an additional tv1 out for RF channel 3 or 4. I think you could in theory have an easier time combining rf channel 3 or 4 with the other channels. I believe channels 3/4 are vhf and higher numbers are uhf and they are at different frequencies.

Only problem is you would might not be able to get both outputs. Now you have created a weekend project for me to see if I can combine RF 3 with channel 60 so I have 2 choices to watch on my connected tvs from 1 722k tuner.

You can buy that module online to install yourself, it just slides in like a network card on a computer tower. Dish treats those like gold.

Yes. I was real happy Dish shipped it to me for free after calling customer service since my old one had the OTA connection and the new one didn't. Otherwise, I think it is $50 from them or usually around $35 online.
