Anybody out there who has the tools and expertise to help us with our portable satellite dish for tailgating? A moonlighting DirecTv technician who is also a Cyclone fan would be fantastic! We are in Ames.

There should be an option to help u tune it in. Point it south and slightly west. Sometimes they have to be really dialed in to get a signal.

It can definitely be a little tricky. This was a few years back but we set one up on my friends bus down in G5 and pointed it south southwest and had a strong signal right out of the gate. Literally two weeks later we parked the bus in the exact same spot and set the dish up just like before and couldn't pull a signal.

Yeah, and sometimes you get a really strong signal, but it is the wrong satellite. Move it a tiny bit and there's the right one.

It also helped to use your smartphone to establish the degree of tilt for the dish.
