I just wish the tables weren't right on top of each other at Wallaby's. Last time I sat back to back with McDermott. I'm 6'5" and he's what 6'8"? That wasn't too comfortable...

Are you talking about the tables or the booths? We like Wallaby's for the booth televisions on the west. It's also nice to be recognized, at least by sight, by some of the managers.

The tables... The booths are pretty tight too though... Most of the times we go there it's in a large group so we need a table.

Anyone been to Olde Main lately? Thinking about going tonight.

Liked it last time I was there, but that was a year or two ago.

Also - is Whiskey River officially closed?

Olde Main is delicious still, and has a good staff. I love their pastas - especially at lunch. Alfredo ravioli is freaking awesome.

If you're going for bar food: Dublin Bay, West Towne Pub (get the Skippy Burger if you are brave), Wallaby's, Legend's

If you want a little more versatility: Cafe Shi and The Spice tie for my favorite places in town. The Cafe is very good, Fuji is kind of fun. House of Chen probably has the best Chinese in town. GeAngelo's is also up by the mall.

Fast and cheap: Chinese Homestyle Cooking or La Fuente

So when did Whiskey River close? I was there last Saturday and they have the sidewalk fenced off and built a tunnel thing to get in, because apparently bricks were actually falling off the facade, but they were still open. Did they close since then?

Another vote for Northwest Cafe. The nice thing is that you usually don't have a wait to get in. Plus, they have a bar room (where you can eat) with TV's if you want to watch a game.

I'm with Angie. Olde Main, The Spice, Cafe Shi, and Geangelo's are all fantastic, local restaurants. All are a little pricier than a chain like Applebees, but the food/atmosphere is so much better. Excellent choices.

Yeah, I'm sure that philosophy worked for Ray Kroc.

West Street Deli has incredible sandwiches. Much more in the way of restaurants, and I'm getting out of touch.

But I miss daVinci's.

+1 for West Street Deli. I used to live right across from it. They supplied probably 20% of my diet my junior and senior years.

The only thing I don't like about Dublin Bay is that it's always too dark - be sure to take a flashlight along.

A few others which haven't been mentioned:

Old George's on Duff, and Jeff's Pizza Shop in campus town. And Battles BBQ on Welch.
