I was just trying to look up some info on Diante Garrett and found out that some new schools have jumped in on him recently. You can just read this paragraph though because i don't have a membership to the site www.wissports.com.

-Milwaukee Vincent senior Diante Garrett continues to attract the attention of NCAA Division I schools. Marquette, Clemson, UNLV, Memphis, Xavier and Tennessee are the latest schools to join Iowa State in pursuing the 6-foot-4 point guard. Updates on Garrett and former Milwaukee Washington coach James Gordon are included in today's Wispers.

Jeremy do you have any new updates about Garrett, are we still the leader for him? Since we have offered 3 point guards who would you think that we would have the best chance of getting. It used to sound like it would be Garrett but has anything changed?

I'm going to bring this thread back to life by asking the same question. Are we still at the top of the list for him, and if so, when could we expect a committment???

We are still the top on his list. From what I've heard, he has been visited recently by the staff and still holds out a lot of respect for the ISU coaching staff and the current players. I think that we are the top school right now and hopefully we'll stay that way. I think he will commit to his choice by the end of September (give or take a little:) ). He seems willing to make some visits but also wants to make sure a spot is open for him.

Thanks Jeremy. He better hurry if he wants a spot. We have 3 other offers out to point guards, but he would be my first choice of them so I hope its sooner rather than later.

Sorry to bug you Jeremy but can you release the names of some of the other offers that went out last week??? I believe you said the coaching staff offered many players but could only release one name?

We are definitely at the top of his list. I think he is very close to a decision. You may see him in Ames very soon for a another visit. Maybe even this week. ;)
