Deadline for Missouri

So if we are committed to 10 teams then there has to be a deadline for Missouri to sign over media rights does there not? They can't be in limbo waiting for a better deal while the Big 12 is supposedly moving forward. Anyone know if they've been given a deadline? I prefer they stay but a show of power is needed by the remaining schools - the Big 9.5.
I apologize now should this be under another thread. But it is a singular question.

I don't know why a deadline is needed. The SEC won't be staying at 13 beyond 2012.

The reason for a deadline is because it affects the Big 12. Why does the Big 12 allow Missouri to be in limbo when they'd have to replace them? Lack of action got us to this point. I say you tell Missouri you have until X date to sign the agreement or we replace you. It doesn't change the end scenario but it does potentially change who we replace them with.

Is there a deadline? Probably.

Has it been made public? Not that I know of.
I'll see if I can find the link, but I saw a story today that indicated Neinas had given Mizzou the ENTIRE academic year (2011-2012) to reach a decision. Hence the reason he came out and said they will definitely be part of the Big XII in 2012-2013. I'll edit if I find the link.

EDIT: That didn't take long. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/12/s...o-play-in-big-12-next-season-then-decide.html

I think it's ridiculous to give them that much time. They know what they want and what options are open to them. I think a week is more than sufficient.

You just make it easier for the SEC to take them in your scenario.

I don't see how it helps the B12.

I think it actually stabilizes the Big 12 faster which should be the point. If you are going to the SEC get it worked out. If you are not, sign the agreement. We, as the Big 12 need to confirm members and bury this. Seems simple. Besides, Missouri has basically spread it's legs for anyone willing to jump on top.

More time gives the SEC time to get a school better than Mizzou.
