That's great for him. He seems like the kind of guy who really used football as a tool to better his life in multiple ways. Those are the best kinds of sports stories. Also as we look at some people like Haliburton/Troy Davis/Fizer/Tinsley who aren't eligible for the HOF due to not being a graduate this would allow David to have that opportunity.

Actually those guys are eligible for the Hall of Fame. And I think several are already in it. AJ Klein is a guy who didn't graduate who will be in the Hall of Fame. I don't think you are eligible for your number retirement in basketball unless you've graduated though.

You are right. I always thought it was the other way around where they couldn’t be inducted into the hall of fame unless they had graduated and couldn’t have the jersey retired unless they were already in the hall of fame.

Our two sons became Eagle Scouts. I know how much effort an early teen needs to put in to achieve such an accomplishment.

For an very young man to do that in an urban setting,....so much harder.

It is why HC MC can continue to make ISU a special place for very special human beings. Keep finding those young guys and ISU can continue to be a contender.
